A Sinseon, or immortal being, is sometimes referred to by another name, Yeongaek (煙客).
It means a person who lives by drinking mist, and describes someone who leaves the mundane world behind, enjoys the company of nature, and lives
joyfully and peacefully, free from worries.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
I thought that the cloudy, opaque appearance of makgeolli resembled mist.
I also felt that it was similar to a curtain or veil that conceals something, so I combined the word fog, referring to mist, with mag, the Korean word for the curtain/veil of makgeolli, to create the name Fogmak.
Through Fogmak, we invite you into the world of mist—and to the playful, carefree world of the sinseon.
